Intermission Favorites

"200" Bicentennial Promo -- If you're not already epileptic, you will be after watching this trippy bicentennial tribute that was actually commissioned by the U.S. government!

Bugorama Show Promo -- One of those great old theatre ads that whetted your appetite for giant insect movies, without really telling you a darned thing.  But they got the job done.

"Doomsday" Show Promo -- Another local theatre ad promising a great movie event night without committing themselves to any specific details.  But we went home and told Mom and Dad they HAD to let us be there.

Let's All Go To The Lobby -- Free streaming video at the Filmack Studios site, but no download available.  Filmack sells hard copies to theatres.  You'll remember this intermission classic as soon as you hear the opening notes.  (Not in the public domain.)

Marathon of Fright Promo -- Still another of those great old special events they used to hold at drive-ins and home town theatres, before the emergence of today's corporate multiplexes.

Mother's Day Theatre Promo -- This chestnut dates back to 1934, just a year after the invention of the drive-in theatre!

Patrons Avoid Noise -- The management of this theatre thanks you for your patronage, and respectfully requests that you SHUT UP!

Previews of Coming Attractions -- Pretty self- explanatory.  Guess the theatre owners wanted to make sure patrons knew they still had time to frequent the snack bar.

The Star-Spangled Banner -- A great sing-along version featuring Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians, complete with a solicitation to buy war bonds.

Theatrical Public Service Announcements -- Mostly of historical interest.  The creators of these announcements never aimed for entertainment value, but just went for the heart.  At least here, you can watch them without having the lights come up and a donation can passed around afterwards.

The Show Starts In 5 Minutes -- Free streaming video at the Filmack Studios site, but no download available.  Filmack sells hard copies to theatres.  This is a truncated version of the countdown clock you used to race from your car to the restroom to the snack bar, and back again.  (Not in the public domain.)
